Report
The Nordic team was firing on all cylinders from the opening face-off. First to get on the scoresheet was Max Isaksson, while three more teammates found the back of the German net in the opening 20 minutes of game time making it a very one-sided 4:0 game heading into the first intermission.
The second period saw the Swedes pick up right where they left off with their near perfect dominant play. Goal number five of the game came when Oscar Holmertz picked up a beautiful cross-ice pass and slid it between Bolle’s pads. Germany then had their best stretch of the game, with the best chance of their opening Hlinka Gretzky duel going to Schwarz who found himself alone in front of goalie Tjärnlund but couldn’t finish a forehand deke to score.
Sweden started the third period with a lucky rebound goal off Elton Hermansson to make it 6:0 but went on to score four more, with Bartholdsson, Holmertz, Kim and Josbrant all finding the back of the net before the final whistle to end this dominant display of Swedish hockey talent.
