Both teams were aware of their position in the standings which didn´t mean they didn´t play on hundred percent in this game. After the tied first half of the game three goals scored against within one minute layed Russia down. The Russian team now has to move to Piešťany to play the Slovaks for the seventh place. The Czechs will meet Sweden in the semifinals.

Both teams showed offensive hockey full of speed, which resulted in many chances and the three goals scored in the first period. Filip Dvorak scored the first after five minutes of the play. Russia responded immediatelly - after only 6 seconds! But the goal was waved off because Pavel Karnaukhov used high stick. The Russian players needed less than three minutes to score according to the rules. Kirill Kaprizov tied the game. But it was the home team who was leading by one after the first period. Roman Dymáček shot from the blue line and Krasotkin didn‘t see a lot.
The winner of this game was decided in the second period. Czech players managed to score five goals! They closed their rivals in their zone in the beginning of the second period and although Filip Suchý needed two attempts to score, he did it on his second. Mikhail Sidorov stopped the chance of Dymacek and Soustal in the 32rd minute and maybe it was his penalty that made the difference! Jan Dufek took advantage of the powerplay and the Czechs added two more goals thanks to Roman Dymacek and Simon Stransky. Everything happaned within just one minute! With only 50 seconds remaining Simon Stransky added his second of the game on breakaway.
The highest attendance of the tournament in Břeclav called for TEN. And they were heard of well. The hosts added four more goals. Dmitrij Zhukenov replied on the one of Lukáš Jašek. But that was the second and last game Russia put on the scoresheet. Filip Dvořák capitalized on his play in the two men advantage and Jakub Zbořil scored the last two goals including the tenth one of the team. The Czechs beat Russia 11-2 and remain unbeaten themselves.

Jakub Petr (Czech Republic): We warned the players, that eventhough the group had been decided, they had to focus on the game. We wanted to let the teams such as Russia know they have to reckon with us this season. I appreciate the players giving hundred percent into the whole game. I said it last year, we admire the doggedness of north American teams when the game had been already decided. It‘s great the players played till the last minute of the game in front of the great attendace.
