The Hlinka Gretzky Cup will take place in Edmonton this year! And it starts in a few days. This year, the Czech U18 team will follow up on the success of last year in Břeclav – after a great run through the tournament, they fell in overtime in the final against Canada.
The Czech youngsters will fly to Canada at the start of August, but before that they will have time for a camp and a couple of tune-up games in Switzerland. Then they will be off to Canada, where they will face the hosts on August 3 in a pre-tournament game. The tournament itself will start two days later. In the group stage, David Čermák’s team will face the USA, Germany and Finland.
